1960 Holt Howard Starry Eyed Mod Bird Salt & Pepper Pixieware Handpainted MCM
Here is a super-cool set sure to make your dinner table look more retro. This is a rare pair. Holt Howard usually stuck to cutesy, kitsch-type styling for its designs; most famously known for its Pixieware. This set has the same type of stripe work that the Pixieware features, but these green and orange striped birds have a much more Mod, Scandinavian, or even an Italian mid century look to them, as opposed to what Holt Howard typically produced.
They stand 4" tall and 3" wide. The starry-eyed shakers are clearly marked and dated 1960 on the bottoms and include their original corks. There is crazing throughout the pair and slight discoloration in a few spots. No cracks or chips, but some black paint is missing off the beaks; all pictured clearly.
They are in overall great vintage condition, and will accent a mid century themed decor marvelously.
