This Boston designer was known for her wild large-knit clothing which were modeled by Twiggy in Women's Day Magazines, and Goldie Hawn on Laugh-in. She was a guest on the Tonight Show as well as the Johnny Carson Show, where she taught Johnny and Rosie Greer how to knit.
If you search online you will only find a few examples of clothing by this iconic 1960s designer. The Museum of Modern Art has several of her dresses and creations.. This authentic Jeanne Damon hand knitted Hat is covered with curved gold plastic palettes that measure 2 ¾" by 1 ¼".
When this hat is worn these palettes resemble feathers and the metallic surface shimmers when you move. Measuring from the top center to the bottom edge of one side, this hooded hat measures 16" long and it retains the original 16" long ties. There are no problems or any restorations and although this hat does not have a label, we guarantee 100% that it was handmade during the 1960s by Jeanne Damon.
