The Thonet factories in Poland and former Czechoslovakia were nationalized and production of the Thonet chairs continued (without license from Thonet) in the former Thonet factories. This is the reason these Thonet chairs have the Ligna stamp and not the Thonet stamp. The chairs still have the original black painting. One leg has a bit wood chipped off and the other one has a small crack on the inner rim. The chairs are fully functional and the wear and tear and defects mentioned above are unavoidable due to the age of the chairs.
