Iconic vintage Kay Bojesen puffin child's toy

Iconic Puffin toy designed by Kay Bojesen in the 1940's, made of beech, and hand painted. The head fits snuggly, but is removable. The paint is generally in good condition with some paint loss throughout including beak and wings, as is seen in most examples of this vintage toy. There is some black marker on the bottom of the puffin, likely added by the child who originally owned the bird but the marks do not affect the overall beauty of this iconic little creature.
