Nauga Monster 1960s Waldo the Great by Koszegi Advertising Collectible
Vintage 1960's original vinyl promo Naugahyde Black/white/red "Waldo the Great" Nauga Doll 18" tall x 16 1/4" wide x 3 1/2 deep. Weighs about 1.5 lbs. It's in great shape, considering it is over 50 years old. The vinyl is extremely pliable and there are no seams damaged or split.
My mom bought this doll at a furniture store the early 70s and kept it safe all this time. He even comes complete with his medallion necklace!
When Uniroyal started using naugahyde, they created these promo dolls. There is the Monster, a Penguin, this Owl, and maybe a few more.
Waldo the Great is very rare, although not as rare as the owl or the penguin. Please see my other auctions. Often these are stamped by the designer Koszegi on the foot or an attached label, but this one has no stamp that I can find...
