RARE Vintage JOHN BUCK / HOLT HOWARD PIXIEWARE SALT British UK Pixie Shaker
HP434 - Here is another rare John Buck pixie piece I recently acquired - the John Buck Pixie Salt shaker. England did not have a license to import from Japan.
So when John Buck met John Howard and saw the items he produced, John Buck became a supplier of Holt Howard items to Europe. They were produced by his own pottery production unit of John E Buck & Co. And have some variations from the US pixies. Because they weren't as popular in Europe as they were in the US, John Buck items are pretty rare as they weren't made on a large scale.
John Buck used the same coloring on their salt shaker but it is larger than the Holt Howard salt - it stands 4.5 tall. What a delightful piece this is and makes collecting these pixies so fun when you find "different" rare ones like this that you'll never see again. No chips, cracks or staining.
