Retro Mid Century Modern, Starburst Swag Lamp, Pendant Lamp, Mid Century Hollywood Regency Red Green Blue. Not only do I sell dozens of vintage MCM swag lamps per year, I like to customize boring ones. This one was just a cream colored polystyrene cylinder swag lamp. I melted in a bunch of holes in the shade to let light out and put a bunch of 50s starburst on it that retained the cream color of the plastic shade. It is not perfect but sure has that mix of original and custom look to it.
I did not use standard paint, I used a special translucent lacquer so light will go through it. The original lamp has a 3-way switch which you pull the tassel and chain for all three and off. I like this lamp so I have it hanging on display until it sells. It comes with a one way bulb in it now, if you want a three way bulb, you can put one in it. The shade is 17" tall x 9" wide.
