Vintage Holt Howard Relish Pixie Condiment with Spoon Pixieware
HP228 - As 1959 came around, Holt-Howard introduced the Relish, Honey, Mayonnaise and Chili Sauce. There was a dimensional style change in the pixie heads to more of a diamond shape. The relish jar is the only Pixieware piece of the original 12 jars that has such an elongated head from ear to ear. The peevish expression on his face almost gives you the feeling that he is annoyed because someone pulled on his ears and stretched his face! If you examine the relish's hairdo, you see the new pixie hairstyle for the 1959 pixies - a rounded, somewhat elliptical balled-end knob.
All previous 1958 pixies had spoke like hairdos (except for the Onions and Olives, which were flat tops). The relish jar has a scallion-leafed neck, turquoise-colored face and 10 stripes that match his face color.
The writing on the jar is bold and the colors are bright. Check out my other items.
