Vintage Painted Tin Wooden Framed Dance Swing Band Sign
A fun sign, great decoration for any bar, restaurant or home game room. This is a dance sign from the early to mid 1900's painted on two tin panels mounted in a fantastic wooden frame with iron hangers. The painted tin is in two parts indicating a sign that may have served more than one purpose. This type of make do signage makes an excellent example of advertising folk art. The sign advertises a dance on Wednesday night and must have been for a private club as it states members and friends are welcome. It also talks about swing band music very popular starting in the 1920's up to the 1940's.
