Vintage Retro Eames Era Mid Century Modern Atomic Starburst Sputnik Lamp
All original except for a recent plug replacement. Socket and wiring are excellent. Three-position switch allows for the glass base to be lit alone, the top bulb alone, or both. Glass base has gold-painted starbursts, over the entire circumference, that match the original shade. Some are obviously worn, but the camera flash whitewashed them a bit, so even the worn ones are more legible in person. You could always touch them up or have it done by anyone with a steady artist's hand and some gold-leaf paint. Regardless, the lamp is great as-is. The two-tiered shade is a hefty 17" diameter at the top X 9 1/2" in overall height (both tiers)...
Giving a nice scale contrast to the base, and a majestic crown. Lamp stands approximately 27 to top of shade. Base stands 21 to top of socket.
No cracks, chips, or repairs on glass base. Conical metal lamp-bottom is showing an average, aged patina, but nothing overtly gaudy... Shade has no unsightly stains, no rips, no creases. You have to see it in person to appreciate...
