1969 Chrome Dining Chairs by Pascal Mourgue Bauhaus Retro Vintage Mid-Century
Pascal Mourgue dining chairs for Steiner of France. These stacking dining chairs have been designed in the 1960s by Pascal Mourgue, and manufactured by Steiner, in France in 1969 although have been clearly inspired by the Bauhaus movement. The structure of these chairs is made from chrome plated metal while the seat and the backrest are made from white period rubberised fabric. The focal point of the design is the chair frame itself this has been created around a zig-zag style shape something that at the time must have been an especially cutting-edge look.
The formation of the frame and the rubber band type seat base suspension provides a very cushioning seating position. The chair upholstery is all original with very minor wear and age appropriate patina, the chairs would fit into many different styles of period décor or environment. The upholstery has been cleaned while a few chair legs have very minor pitting, please do take into account that the chairs are all original and over four decades old.
