Antique Mid Century Modern Abstract Expressionist Oil Painting Matson
If you swear you have seen this painting before, you might be right. These were contemporary works that were expertly-selected (sometimes by Vincent himself) and hand-copied by trained working studio artists for mass retail sale. Similar to Lee Reynolds Burr's Vanguard Studio, this collection offered real paintings created by real artists at affordable prices.
Though this painting is not a one-of-a-kind design, each one is inherently unique. This design is signed with the original creator's name in the lower right corner, which reads Matson. Approximately 12 1/4 x 15 1/4 inches including frame. Actual artwork is approximately 11 x 14 inches.
Good condition, with some light scuffing and edge wear to the original period frame. This piece does not have the Vincent Price Collection seal.
