This is a wonderful and dynamic Antique Mid Century Modern California Cubist Abstract Oil Painting on wood, by Mid Century California Modernist Don West. This work depicts two geometric cubes, suspended in a kinetic field of turquoise and sky blue. The geometric aspect of this work, and the bold lines lead me to believe that West was a known and talented artist in his day.
I could not find much information on this painter, but perhaps you know more about the artist or his work? Approximately 14 1/2 x 30 1/2 inches. Signed: "West" in the lower right corner.Additionally, it is signed two times on the verso: "Don West 1954" and Don West 1957. I presume that this work was created in 1957.
