Fabulous Antique Chalkware Art Deco Statue Diana the Huntress 14 ABCO N. Y. 1940
This fabulous antique chalkware statue of the goddess Diana the Huntress is pretty good sized, about 14" long x 8" tall and on the felt pad underneath it has a label that says: ABCO Hand Painted - Made in U. " On the beige base behind the goddess it also has faintly cast-in oval with "'C' Alexander Backer inside.
The 3 1/2 pound statue is beautifully formed with classic Art Deco styling and sumptuous color. There is some slight wear and the gold colored wire bow has been replaced but aside from this the gorgeous antique figurine is in excellent original condition. My best guess as to age is ca. Very decorative and rare to find in this good condition!
