Imagine sitting outside that little Parisian cafe on the left bank and sipping your beverage of choice and watching the parade of jauntily dressed people saunter by. Ahh, yes, those were the days.. I always seem to digress. This is a cool porcelain match striker designed by Alexander Girard and it works just as well as the day it was made.

It holds matches and the striker is on the outside of the part that holds the matches. This is the rare color combination of orange and yellow. Alexander Girard was a prolific designer who was commissioned to do work for Herman Miller, Georg Jensen, L'Etoile, and La Fonda del Sol, to name but a few. It measures about 3 tall and is in great condition.
