Max Sauze was an Algerian-French master of metal and was born in Algiers in 1933.He studied at the Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts d'Alger (1953-56) and the Ecole Camondo in Paris from 1956 until 1959. He began producing his own designs in a small art workshop in Algiers starting in 1959. In 1963, Sauze moved back to France, to Eguilles near Aix en Provence.
