An amazing and super rare Mid-Century collectible find that was designed and made in France. This is a vintage 1960's Magazine holder made from thick steel wire by Max Sauze. This item is extremely rare and hard to find. Please see the pictures for up close views from all sides.. From research online on Max Sauze. Max Sauze was an Algerian-French master of metal and was born in Algiers in 1933.

He studied at the Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts d'Alger (1953-56) and the Ecole Camondo in Paris from 1956 until 1959. He began producing his own designs in a small art workshop in Algiers starting in 1959. In 1963, Sauze moved back to France, to Eguilles near Aix en Provence.

By 1968, Sauze had founded his company dedicated to working fixtures. His designs most frequently involved bent and interwoven aluminum strips over steel wire structures. Sauze's work, which spans sculpture, garden, ceramics, lighting, architecture, and books, is emblematic of the art-craft renaissance that occurred in the late 1960's and through the 1970's, a precursor to postmodernism.

Max Sauze is currently retired. His works of art are sought after all over the world. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Vintage, Retro, Mid-Century\1960s".
