Vintage MCM Mid Century Ackerman Style Mosaic Tile Panel String Instrument Art
Up for sale is this vintage circa late 1950s / early 1960s mosaic tile wall art panel of a stringed instrument. Wonderful Mid Century Modern work of art, in the style of renowned and listed artist, Evelyn Ackerman (wife to husband and business / design partner Jerome Ackerman). Done on Masonite and in a simple wooden frame. This one has colored glass carefully placed in some spots. The stone tiles are colorful and nicely cut into shape and placed perfectly.
All tiles in the mosaic are accounted for - I see no missing tiles whatsoever. The wood frame could be original and has some light wear to the edge. The frame measures 23" inches long and 10.6" inches wide (58.4 cm, 26.9 cm) while the tile artwork itself measures 19.5" inches long and 7.2" inches wide (49.5 cm, 18.3 cm).
